Lebara Mobile was founded in 2001 and employs over 1000 people in eight countries. It transformed the international calling market, making it easier for communities to stay in touch with friends and family back home. More than ten years on, Lebara is one of Europe’s fastest growing mobile companies, with some 4 million active customers and operations in UK, France, Australia, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and Netherlands.
In 2010 as Lebara rolled out its new Web Platform, it set itself targets to achieve 25% of its revenue from the Online channel. Increase revenue through Search Engine Optimisation, a low cost revenue stream. Full visibility in top search engine positions for agreed keywords. Optimise conversions through tracing and optimising the online journeys from entry to buying into one of the various services.
Although SEO had been on the company’s radar while planning the site however its actual implementation had not been carried out. Digital Portfolios, Search Strategy’s parent company was appointed an Operations Consultancy for Online Sales and Marketing.
From 2010 to 2011, we worked with the in-house team to plan and deliver changes in the SEO of the site including augmenting the efforts through Social Media. The on-page SEO work included working with the various countries in agreeing the most beneficial keywords to target. These were then added into the code. Google analytics was closely monitored to map every online sale. The webpages were changed to optimise conversions. Social media was integrated into all web pages.
Online sales across all the countries increased to more than £30 Million in revenue in one year. Increased awareness of the Lebara Mobile brand and top positions on Google Yahoo and Bing. Top positions in other directories of the eight target countries and their associated audience corridors. Full presences on Social media platforms.
